1 egg carton cup, painted black (can color with marker)
2 wiggle eyes
3 - 6 inch black pipe cleaners
Poke 3 holes on each side of eggcup and thread black pipe cleaners through
Ladybug caterpillar (using 3 cups)
Bats 1 cup and 2 halves on either side.
My kids always make black garbage bag bats and hang them from the trees.
Take a large black garbage bag and cut it in 2 take 1/2 the bag and cover a 2L pop bottle - just stuff the extra into the bottle and put the lid on.
Fold the other 1/2 bag and cut wings - make sure you have a fold.
Put a large twig in the fold area and tape. Then tape the wings to the covered pop bottle.
Add eyes (we used glow in the dark ink pens) This bat will sit nicely in a tree by using the twig on the wings to secure it between branches.
The wings make a really neat rustling sound if it is a windy night!
Take two white paper napkins or paper towels. Roll one into a ball and place it in the center of the opened flat napkin. Gather up flat napkin around ball making head of ghost. Tie a string around neck of ghost and hang from ceiling or in front of windows. For a treat, wrap the napkin around a sucker or Tootsie Pop tying a string under candy to form head and dot two eyes with a felt tip pen.
Materials: String or yarn, 6 x 6 in. pieces of string and 4 12 in. pieces of string, diluted white glue or liquid starch, dishes, waxed paper
Activity: Let the children dip pieces of string into dishes of glue or starch. Then have them lay their strings on waxed paper to create the spider's web. Lay the string in the shape of a spiral over-lapping the ends. Lay the large pieces of string over the spiral in the shape of a cross. When the strings dry, they will become stiff and hold their shapes.
How can I make an easy costume?
