Staple a two-inch piece of yarn to a heart cut from cardboard. Hide the heart while the kids aren't looking. The valentine may be covered, but the yarn must be left showing. Tell the kids that they should all search for the valentine, but when they see it, they shouldn't pick it up or say anything. They should just go to the table and sit down quietly. (This way everyone will have a chance to find the valentine). The first one to the table will be the one to hide the valentine the next time.
You will need to prepare a cardboard box by drawing and cutting out several heart-shaped holes. Even decorating this box is fun. Paint or color with markers. The kids start close to the box and toss the beanbags into the holes. As they get better they can step back and increase the challenge.
VALENTINE GROUP GAME
Cut out a small construction paper heart for each child and print the child's name on it. Place the hearts in a basket. Have the children sit in a circle. Let one child begin by taking a heart from the basket and holding up . Have the child whose name appears on the heart raise his or her hand. Then let the other children take turns saying something nice about that child. Continue in the same manner until each child has received his or her "valentine compliments."
