August 17, 2007, Newsletter Issue #191: I WAS SNAPPING MY FINGERS

Tip of the Week

This poem is played as a game. Each child chooses a character or animal and some sound or phrase. You keep adding and repeating until everyone has a turn.
I was snapping my fingers,
Walking down the street.
When a noise from the bushes,
Made my heart skip a beat.

I froze in fear,
Like I was stuck in glue.
When a purple dragon stepped
Out in my view.
The purple dragon said:
"hey do you mind if I follow you?"

Other suggested animals we use are:
Hungry crocodile
Happy hippopotamus
Laughing lion
Pretty parakeet
Big brave bear
